Foremothers Birth & Wellness is a midwifery homebirth service with doula services founded by Shiphrah Israel, a Certified Professional Midwife, Texas Licensed Midwife, a doula, and childbirth educator,& more. Midwifery care is led by Shiphrah to provide you a empowered and caring pregnancy, birth, & postpartum experience.
After years of doua service, I chose to pursue becoming a midwife to help restore trust in the body, birth, and the power of informed choice, especially for those too often overlooked in traditional systems. My journey is deeply personal, shaped by my own experiences and a calling to serve.
A prepared family is a key to a an empowered birth experience, that is why I center education in birth preparation.
I also offer consultations and birth worker community support because I believe no one should have to navigate this path alone, whether you’re preparing for birth or exploring how to serve others through birthwork, let’s connect so I can become a part of your village through that journey.
Journey to Becoming A Midwife
My birthwork journey started with me serving as a doula, then I chose to pursue midwifery education to deepen my own understanding and pass along birth knowledge to help restore trust in the body, birth, and the power of informed choice, especially for those too often overlooked in traditional systems. While education and advocacy is centered in my doula services as well, I found that families needed a safe and capable provider to render their needs and support them. So, I became that. My journey is deeply personal, shaped by my own experiences and a calling to serve.
